So when did it all begin
This crocheting I mean, I had learnt to crochet from a tutorial book when my children were small, making their matinee jackets, booties etc. Then later as an Auxiliary Nurse working the night shift, I found that on my supper break, crocheting was easy and simple and if you dropped a stitch if called to an emergency it didn't matter...[.unlike if you were knitting ]
For many years I put away my crochet hooks, other things got in the way, after the children grew up then it was sick and bedridden mother who needed care 24/7. that accounted for another 11 crochet free years.........Having said that, I would throw my crochet hooks away for good if it meant I could have my parents back tomorrow.
When the passing of my Mother had finally sunk in I was bereft, and left feeling that I was no longer needed in peoples scheme of things...........My youngest Helen, advised me to get a computer she knew how I loved anything tecky,.even if the knowledge was lacking she was sure I would soon get browsing and communicating with others through the medium of the WWW.
About a year ago I happened on a YouTube site called BOBWILSON123 and I made the first crochet bag I had ever attempted it was this cluster bag which I made using all my scrap yarn.
where I found a YouTube tutorial for this bag by Bobwilson123, and made it for my friend, which she was delighted with.

Try them and enjoy something a whole lot better and environment friendly than a plastic carrier bag.
As I mentioned in my first post, I do make a lot of hats Mostly children's but also on occasion adult sizes, many of which patterns I picked up in Crochet Central some of them here I do wear when the winter hits the UK
But I get some lovely patterns for children's hats from Allicrafts I love her patterns. I wish I was as clever as these people who can make a design and then apply it to a crochet project.

Yes its very bright and colourful but you would be amazed at how many comments I have had about it while out shopping, even from men who usually are not the most observant of creatures when it comes to shopping bags. Just what the doctor ordered in terms of encouragement, now my best friend, who is a whiz at crafts, a really good knitter and dress maker, cannot crochet ( I am in the middle of teaching her at the moment but that's another story] so liked my bag that I decided to make her one too, but of a different pattern so back to Bobwilson123,

A new project

So last night I started on a new item, A hoodie for her to wear during the winter months, I am doing it in a dusky pink which has a small red fleck in it, it really does crochet up well and looks lovely with a red trim....My camera is on the blink at the moment but I will get pics up as soon as possible...........
I've never attempted anything as complicated looking as Irish Lace....and l have to face it, the old eyes aint what they used to be.

Just hooked on crochet
Not that I am clever enough to create my own patterns mind you, I just like the actual crocheting, and I have a definite preference for crocheting Hats ............mostly children's hats and this at a time of life when all my own children are fully grown, and even most of the grandchildren are more into shop bought items.
Still, I do find people willing to take them off my hands, who wouldn't want a freebee ?
I get great inspiration from YouTube especially from Here. and here. Recently I've been making some more hats and concentrating mostly on a Christmas theme
